Today I want to chat about Kombucha. Which is obviously entirely unrelated to these Banana Oatmeal Cookies, but I understand you won't mind.

Allow me to start by saying that my husband beverages apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water daily to decrease inflammation or anything like this.

He claims it's magical. I assert it's nasty.

While I know this will seem dramatic (cause it is)I actually dry heave at the sight and odor of his early ritual on a daily basis. He loves that around me.

Depending upon this reaction, an individual would think I would stay far away from Kombucha, directly? I mean, after all, it definitely comes with a vinegary tang.

But for whatever reason, I continue trying it. I Need to like it SO DANG BAD.

All these Banana Oatmeal Cookies are very easy to make and filled with banana taste.

I'm really a marketer's fantasy because each and every time I see someone I know loving a sip, or even realising their favourite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Perhaps you will really taste decent!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the word enjoying because I believe it is difficult to think this stuff is actually enjoyable in almost any sense of the term.

And spoiler alert. Not one of them taste great. None.

Even those which people claim are light really are a large no-go for me. They still taste like freaking bubbly vinegar.

I am basically convinced that anybody who drinks this fermented tea material includes zero taste buds, or seriously funky ones.

I have literally tried every single brand that my neighborhood market carries and that I HATED, maybe not overdone, HATED every single one.

Yes, I know hate is a really strong word, but there's truly no other way to describe my feelings towards kombucha. And I just had to inform y’all of my true feelings about this one. Who's with me?

Let us completely change gears. One thing I always love? Cookies.

While I am not promising these banana oatmeal biscuits will be the least bit healthy (because hello butter and sugar ), I'm claiming that they are delicious.

They have the ideal quantity of banana flavor and a beautiful chewy feel thanks to its oats. The chocolate chips are simply an additional bonus.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies have a soft, chewy texture. If you're searching for a standard oatmeal cookie, this isn't the cookie you're looking for. I enjoy these cookies somewhat on the side, therefore that I inhale them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you want them to be cooked through, I would take for 10-11 minutes.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies are informative post tender, plump and studded with chocolate. The perfect use for those browning bananas!

I will say that the oats almost makes them seem as a breakfast cookie, therefore they are all kinds of amazing using a cup of coffee or tea first thing in the afternoon.

I'd add some chopped walnuts to a batch instead of chocolate chips, but everybody definitely preferred the chocolate chips over the nuts.

These biscuits are a wonderful way to use up those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter at the moment. I won't even tell anybody they're not actually breakfast biscuits. Enjoy!




1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 large egg

1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 tsp ground cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350°F.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a big bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and blend in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl again and add the skillet and vanilla.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and blend until incorporated.

Use a medium cookie scoop (approximately 1.5 tbsp ) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about two inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then lightly press the tops of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Considering these cookies don't spread considerably, this will help give them a conventional cookie form.

Enable the banana oatmeal cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool completely.
